SMOKED MAPLE BEANS.
Four side servings • 10 minutes prep • About 1 hour on the grill
For the skillet
- Two 15-ounce cans of cooked navy beans, drained
- ½ cup tomato sauce and ¼ cup water
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup and 1 tablespoon molasses
- 1 tablespoon cider vinegar, plus more to taste
- 1 teaspoon yellow mustard and ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
On the pit
- Set the pellet grill to 275°F. Stir the ingredients together in a shallow, grill-safe skillet.
- Set the skillet on the grate and close the lid. Stir after 30 minutes. Add a splash of water if the edges look dry.
- Start checking at 50 minutes. When the sauce bubbles and coats the back of a spoon, pull the skillet. Taste and add a little vinegar if you like a sharper finish.
